Max Schireson positions MongoDB as a solution for Big Data and development agility:

Max Schireson also mentions that MongoDB was built for the cloud. So far I couldn’t come up with a clear definition of what means for a database to be cloud ready or cloud enabled.

But I totally agree that MongoDB offers the most agile environment in the NoSQL space. The second runners would be Redis and CouchDB.
