Installing CouchDB on OS X

Just in case you are one of those unlucky people for which the pre-packaged CouchDBX doesn’t work, you may find these Mac OS X ☞ install notes useful.

As for myself I’ve been trying to use more often ☞ homebrew for managing installations on my Mac machine. While I got into some problems installing CouchDB 0.11.0, people on the CouchDB #irc have been extremely helpful and solved all the issues. Also to note, ☞ the homebrew CouchDB formula has been recently upgraded to 0.11.0 and the commit note provides some hints on solving some of the possible upgrade issues.
