Cassandra at Gowalla
Interestingly Gowalla doesn’t use Cassandra for storing locations (SimpleGeo and Twitter do that), but for other 4 scenarios: audit, activity feed service, active stories, and social graph caches.
Don’t use it because you read a blog post about it. Use it because it fits your application and your team is excited about using it.
